Fortissimo. Together with partners Simula (Norway) and Cineca (Italy) Vittamed has successfully completed “iBrainSafeCloud” experiment under Fortissimo project. The project is coordinated by the University of Edinburgh and involves 123 partners (74 SMEs) from 14 countries. The project is funded by the European Commission within the 7th Framework Programme and is part of the I4MS Initiative.

The challenge facing the partners in this experiment was to create mathematical models and develop the necessary software tools to enable simulations of cerebral blood flow in the ophthalmic artery to be performed. An internal Carotid/Opthalmic Artery model has been developed and used to simulate blood flow. This model has been tested and optimised to run on a multi-processor HPC system. It will be used by Vittamed in the future development of its non-invasive ICP measurement technology by simulating blood flow in arteries with specified parameters under different external conditions in order to gain better understanding of blood-flow pulsations. Simula has written and tested the necessary software tools needed to implement the required simulations.

Through cloud based-HPC simulations Vittamed can design new more accurate products. In particular, Vittamed is targeting a new ophthalmological market niche for glaucoma diagnostics, where more precise and accurate ICP measurements are needed. Glaucoma blindness is irreversible, but it may become preventable, if aided by advancements in screening and early detection. Improved measurements of intraocular and intracranial pressure would enable the development of innovative diagnostic and screening technologies and treatment methods. 

E-business. Vittamed has successfully finished project "Installation of software and computer equipment" funded by European Union structural funds programme "E-business" and  administrated by Lithuanian Business Support Agency. This programme supports small and medium companies that install electronic business solutions into their facilities, optimizing either their manufacturing or service providing business processes. Total Vittamed project budget was 37.161,58 EUR, out of which 22.296,95 EUR were funded.

During the project Vittamed has implemented Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and accounting software, as well as special hardware to optimize administrative and manufacturing processes. The investments will help Vittamed to increase labor productivity and organize internal business processes more effectively. More info at Lithuanian business support agency… 

  Expo-certificate. Vittamed has successfully finished project "Products certification for export markets" funded by European Union structural funds programme "EXPO certificate" and  administered by Lithuanian Business Support Agency. This programme supports certification of products that are planned to be exported, promoting positive image of Lithuania companies and stimulating their internationality. Total project budget was 55.723,99 EUR, out of which 27.862,00 EUR were funded.

During the project Vittamed has tested Non-invasive intracranial pressure absolute value meter in Lithuanian and international accredited laboratories in order to fulfill requirements of these standards: EN 60601-1; EN 60601-1-2; AAMI ANSI/IEC 60601-1; AAMI ANSI/IEC 60601-1-2; AAMI ANSI/IEC 60601-2-37; ISO 10993, Medical Devices Directive (93/42/EEC).   E-business. Total Vittamed project budget is 38.173,54 EUR, out of which 22.904,12 EUR are funded.

  New Opportunities. Vittamed was granted funding under European Union structural funds programme "New Opportunities " - "Increasing business productivity and improving business environment". This programme supports presentation of the companies and their products  at international trade fairs and similar events.

The purpose of the „New Opportunities“  is to encourage and support companies to find new partners in foreign countries and to increase sales in global markets. Total project budget is 63.887 EUR, Vittamed received 38.332  EUR support.
